After the release of this book, Sarah Mae developed a second set of challenges that are more routine based. As we go through the book, you are welcome to do either set of challenges. Whatever fits into your season of life.
The first set of challenges are found within the book, at the end of each day.
The second set of challenges is found on the 31 Days to clean website, and you need to own the book to access them. You can find them here.
So how this will work:
Each “day”, a contributor or guest poster of Homemakers Challenge will post here their own experience and ideas stemming from each chapter title of the book. It will be inspiring, challenging, witty, motivating, etc. Posts will be Mon-Fri, from Sept. 1-Oct. 14th., so the 31 days is not consecutive.
If you miss a day of challenges, please do not quit. Pick up where we are and continue on. There is no room for perfectionism here!
We’re looking for progress and productivity, not perfection.
Each Friday I will have a link up for those of you who would like to share your progress. I encourage you to do this because it helps with accountability. It also invites us to come encourage you!
Here’s how the challenge will work:
- Read the chapters each day that week. Highlight, take notes, do what you have to do to engage the material. Don’t just read it. Really allow it to change you. Journal, pray, look up scriptures.
- Write a post (or more, if you like) sharing your most challenging chapter for that week and give us a personal glimpse as to why you struggle in this area. Don’t worry! We all have an area of struggle, so we will all be sharing! Share what you need that could help you in that area. I will be posting a struggle, but also some extra solutions to accompany what Sarah Mae has offered. If you feel compelled, why not also share something that comes easily for you? Perhaps you could offer tips to others who may be struggling?
- Use the button in your post so that others can find their way back in case they would like to join us. The more the merrier! You can find the button in the sidebar.
- Link up your post(s) on Friday, beginning September 9th . It doesn’t matter what day you choose to write your post, you can still link it up on Friday.

I really need this! I lack in organizational skills and though my house is “clean” I know it could be a lot better! Looking forward to this!!
Yay Amy!!
Amy, maybe we can encourage one another during this! I always feel as though my house is ‘picked up’ but rarely clean…DEEP cleaned. We’re going to have fun and definitely be challenged!
I am so excited for this

It’s a hard challenge, but SO worth it!! We’ll be here to help and encourage you

I’m really looking forward to starting this challenge! I think it will be hard but I definitely am in need of it! And the accountability will be good too!
Blessings,
Andrea @ Blessed Mom of 3
I don’t have a blog to link up to or anything, but I will be following along at home! Just what I need to kick start my fall!
I don’t blog either but I recieve the “Joyful Mothering” emails and keep up with Christin’s as well. I bought this book a little after the first challange was over. I had just discovered it in the middle and was trying to develope routines in my home. I just finished college so now I am staying home with my three children. Before it was just clean what I could when I could, in between classes, studying, a part time job, and the responsibilities of our ministry internship. So I am SOOO looking forward to this. Thank you for doing it again. I need the accountability, too, to keep it up.

No blog but I am ready to jump in!!
Let’s do this! I bought Sarah Mae’s book back in May and have read it, but haven’t implemented! I blog over at OneFunMom. Yay!
I just started a blog so I can keep record of my 31 days to clean. So then I just post a link here when I blog about it?
Kayla, beginning next Friday I will have a link up, like the one here for the sign up, and you can share a post you’ve written related to 31 Days to Clean for that week by putting in the URL for that post in and adding it to the list.
